Hi my name is Garrett Keown, Senior Head Chef of Restaurants at Harrods.
Food has always been a massive part of my life ever since I can remember. From picking blackberries & tomatoes in my garden when I was a child to fishing the local beach then cooking my catch. I have always had that connection with food and this is something I am now passing onto my children.
This is why the CHEF foundation appealed to me so much. Through the power of food it looks to support communities in Lesotho’s in Africa by directly funding small business start ups and education, giving the people of Lesotho a much better quality of life.
I will be supporting CHEF this year by participating in the London to Brighton bike ride. In order to reach my £400 target I will be taking part in some amazing food events we have organised (watch this space!), I am also holding a food raffle (meaning anyone who donates £20 or more, will automatically be entered for a chance to win a 3 course meal with canapés and a drink for 4 people cooked by myself), plus possibly a few more!
I am really looking forward to supporting this charity and I hope with your help we can raise some money for such a great cause.
